Mid-Missouri Muslims don't have many options when it comes to finding a mosque. The Islamic Center of Central Missouri is the largest in the area, making it a hub for worship.
Through the years, it's continued to grow: In 2010, the mosque reported that 1,200 people attended prayers for Eid al-Adha, a major holy day marking the end of Ramadan. But as the community expands, leaders are finding it difficult to keep up – especially where space is concerned.
In this week's audio update, we explore what the Muslim communities ideas are for expansion – and what it would take to make them happen.
The mosque is also experiencing what several other Muslim communities across the country are facing: an imam shortage. For more information, read our story on the situation.
