Missouri doctors to be present with patients when administering abortion-inducing drugs

The Missouri legislature passed a bill requiring doctors to be physically in the same room as patients when administering abortion-inducing drugs, such as Mifepristone, or RU-486. Another bill passed prevents pharmacies from being required to carry specific drugs – including those that induce abortions.

Troubled Missouri diocese to pay $600,000 abuse settlement

The Catholic diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph led by Bishop Robert Finn, who was convicted last year of failing to report a priest who was taking pornographic pictures of children, will pay a $600,000 settlement to the family of one of the priest's victims.
